In order to secure the supply of the electricity, capacity mechanisms are proposed as a measure to ensure the desired supply level by encouraging investments from both supply and demand side. Facing the closure of old generation power plants along with the Decarbonization policies, the high penetration of renewable energy resources, there is a rising need for a proper market design and implementation of capacity mechanisms knowing that policies and regulations by the EU Government is complicated and ambiguous, which discourages investments in the market.
