Conference Overview

In order to secure the supply of the electricity, capacity mechanisms are proposed as a measure to ensure the desired supply level by encouraging investments from both supply and demand side. Facing the closure of old generation power plants along with the Decarbonization policies, the high penetration of renewable energy resources, there is a rising need for a proper market design and implementation of capacity mechanisms knowing that policies and regulations by the EU Government is complicated and ambiguous, which discourages investments in the market.

Thus, we would like to invite you to our 3rdCapacity Mechanisms. This event will be co-located with the 4thAncillary Services and Demand Response and 4thAnnual Cross-border trading and balancing event on January 17-18th, 2019 in Berlin. The event facilitates greater networking and debate opportunities by engaging a joint session for three energy management events on the 1stday.

This year, the conference will focus on provides the up-to-date perspectives on the new policies by European Commission, brings up the discussion about designing a capacity market that is not only effective but also ensures the compatibility with the regional and national regulations and incentives.
