Cross-border trading and balancing is about building an internal energy market that allows countries to share their power re-sources and balance the increasing demands. In the first quarter of 2019, the European Parliament came to the approval of the final four elements of energy regulatory proposal from European Commission, which completes the Clean Energy Package. The new rules encourage the free trade of energy and foster the deployment of renewables towards the climate objective and an integrated energy market initiative. However, it has also raised concerns about the obligations TSOs should, market distortions and failures due to variety of practices in local markets.
The event discusses the legal frameworks that benefit market attendants, provides an overview of the current energy balancing and trading market design with a set of performance criteria for evaluation, presents the review and explanation of capacity calculation and sector coupling method following the new regulatory framework.
Industry leaders, transmission system operators, electricity producers, NEMOs, energy officers and researchers will join an open discussion about related topics, address the main changes in market coupling, power system flexibility and the congestion management.
Attendees will have the opportunity of networking with experts in the field while learning and sharing analytical views of the main Energy cross-border trading and balancing.
